Weekend update, part I

Okay, since the weekend is quickly coming to a close, I'm going to cut right to the chase here. Charlotte and I spent a nice afternoon yesterday hiking the nearby Mount Agamenticus, and trying out some hiking poles we had received at Christmas from her grandparents (thanks again for those!).

At the top, we were greeted by views of the White Mountains to the west (even Mt. Washington in the distance, but which was a bit obscured by the haze)...

...the Atlantic Ocean to the east...

...and an extremely tiny and adorable wagon!

Alright! It's on to part two of our update, so stay tuned!

It snowed!

I know that it's January, and that this should hardly be an exciting occurrence, but this winter, any snow is a special occasion. Good thing our digital camera has a fast shutter on it, because the snow is gone already (thanks to yet more 50+ degree weather in January)! However, before it was too late we were able to document the flakes, both here in Kittery at Seapoint Beach and in Portland on Peaks Island.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a PowerBall drawing to win tonight. And if you didn't know about it, my odds are even better than I thought...

Happy 2012, everyone!

So far (3 days in), the weather has been absolutely wonderful, and we're eager to see what adventures the rest of the year holds!

Wherever (and whoever) you are, we hope that this is a terrific year for you.
